Some Agbado Oke Odo LCDA staffs seems to be on the hunt for more Christmas cum new year allowee (an appellation for allowance) this time not from the necessary quarters but from the unsuspecting Lagosians in a local community.
One of them who simply identified himself as Mr Esekunmi in company of a handful of them went about distributing letters to the inhabitants of a secluded community informing them of a vacation order purportedly given by the Lagos State Government in lieu of a demolition exercise, there is no gainsaying the fact that almost all Lagosians now have the house demolition syndrome, no thanks to the Fashola led administration that has succeeded in adding the prefix ex to the status of most Lagosians due to the various demolitions of residential buildings, stalls and shops or otherwise restriction or outright banishment of various trades like motorcycle riding and street hawking.
As soon as the people of Ayetobi got the letter, cold shivers went down the spine of the landlords while the tenants too cried foul. The unscrupulous supposed local Government officials pretended to want to douse the tension of the residents, they simply offered to help and so required them to contribute an amount of money to a tune of five hundred thousand naira to help bribe the state big wig personalities in charge of the demolition exercise as the land were touted to be used as cemetery after all.
Suspecting a foul play, the residents employed the service of a lawyer and so invited the officials to a meeting which they never honored till date.
